Project Description

The project includes the expansion of the general cargo and liquid terminal and involves building an additional 1,266m multipurpose berth, a new Northern breakwater, facilities for dry-bulk commodities and a new liquid jetty.

The main items of work comprise :
  • Dredging of harbour basin
  • Construction of 1.266m quay wall in concrete block work
  • Crane supporting structure supported on strip footing
  • Berthing, mooring aids and navigational aids
  • Reclamation of area between quay wall and the existing breakwater.
  • Protection and revetments
  • Roads and pavement
  • Buildings (substations, fire water pump house, Ablution, Prayer and
    Cafeteria block)
  • Utility services (Potable water supply system, fire protection system, area
    drainage, sewerage system)
  • Electrical services (electrical supply and distribution system, area
    illumination, building electrical)
  • Appurtenances (fencing, kerb & barriers, and road markings)
