Etihad Rail Package 2 F1
Abu Dhabi

Marine & Infrastructure

The UAE's groundbreaking Etihad Rail project will provide unparalleled connectivity across the seven emirates, facilitating movement and generating broad economic and social benefits.

The 1,200 km network will extend from the border of Saudi Arabia to the border of Oman, transporting more than 36.5 million passengers by 2030 and 60 million tons of freight annually.

ARCHIRODON, as a JV member,  contributed to this remarkable project by executing the Design & Build contract for the Al Faya Main Depot of the largest and most integral facility within the entire UAE National Rail Network, including the Operations & Maintenance facility, various operational and administration buildings, trackworks and related utilities and infrastructure. Beyond warehousing, installation, operations and maintenance of locomotives and wagons, the depot also serves as the main integrated control center for the entire network.

Building on this scope, the JV also delivered the Al Faya Depot expansion to support Etihad Rail's passenger fleet. The expansion focused on the Passenger Maintenance Building (PMB), designed to accommodate up to 9 (nine) passenger train sets, and was made available ahead of schedule to ensure the commissioning and testing of the rolling stock ahead of the UAE's passenger service launch.

Together, these works position Al Faya Depot as the shared backbone of both freight and passenger operations across the network.
