Abu Dhabi

Energy & Renewables

Archirodon's contribution to ADNOC's investment maximizes the value from Abu Dhabi’s vast hydrocarbon resources.

The Bab oil field, also known as the Murban Bab oil field, is the biggest onshore oil field in Abu Dhabi of 1,200 km2 and the oldest field in the UAE operating since the early 1960s. ADNOC, as part of its 2030 smart growth strategy, entrusted Archirodon to upgrade its giant Bab oil field and sustain the crude output of the mature field by 485,000 barrels of oil per day (bopd) from 2023 onwards.

Our EPC scope includes greenfield works with demanding logistics due to the vastness of the oil field and brownfield works with the associated challenges.

The surface facilities comprise a total of 118 new oil-producing, water injection and artificial lift wells, 462km of flow lines/trunk lines, 150km of fiber optic cables as well as additional well-bays, pressure let down stations, water injectors clusters and other associated infrastructure. Plant modifications to integrate the oil field upgrade include among others 80km piping, fire & gas detection system, firewater system.
